The comparison shown on the website compares two balanced portfolios, both investments will have an 8% average annual rate of return over 25 years before advisory fees and HST. The impact of a 0.61% savings in overall fees (MER, Advisory Fee, and HST) will have a significant impact over time. All the calculations are provided in the table below.

 

Taxes on interest, dividends and capital gains are not considered in this example, as these are client specific and can vary significantly from one client to another and depend on a variety of factors that cannot be easily applied to this comparison.
